The Technology Behind Euphonia
Euphonia uses state-of-the-art machine learning models to process and enhance your voice in real-time. Our AI technology can improve speech clarity and enhance vocal characteristics to make communication more effective for people with dysphonia and voice disfluencies.
Dewhispering
Euphonia converts whispers to fully voiced intelligible speech. Whispering in voice and video calls requires a lot of effort and disrupts the natural flow of conversations. Euphonia can allow you to speak effortlessly for hours in telecommunications. In many cases, whispering can be used to reduce stuttering during phone calls. In other cases, whispering might be the only available option due to vocal fold disabilities.
Irregular Voicing Restoration
Various voice conditions manifest irregular voicing, irregular pitch variations, devoicing of voiced sounds, etc. Irregular voicing makes speech hard to understand and patients typically slow down their speaking rate to improve intelligibility. Euphonia restores the natural voicing and allows patients to improve intelligibility without any effort. If used correctly, the patients can speak at a normal rate without the need to slow down, facilitating more transparent communications.
Normalization of Speech Patterns
Euphonia can modify speech patterns on the fly, as much as the maximum latency budget permits. This means that it can do micro-corrections of phoneme durations, etc, in order to make speech sound more natural.
Anchoring the Articulation
In mild cases of unclear articulation, Euphonia re-articulates the spoken speech to improve intelligibility. In effect, the spoken phonemes are re-anchored in more intelligible configurations. This works well for most English-speaking people, but some accented speakers might find that it also slightly modifies their accent. Participation in our AI Improvement Program will help us cover a larger pool of accents.
Voice Conditions that can Benefit from Euphonia
Euphonia is a tool for effortless voice and video calls. It works only for voices that are still intelligible by boosting the intelligibility that already exists in the spoken speech. It cannot help if the spoken speech is non-intelligible, and it is not a replacement of therapy.
